How to Choose Between a Spray, Wreath, or Casket Cover
When sending flowers for a funeral, choosing the right type of arrangement can feel overwhelming. Each design serves a different purpose and carries its own symbolism:
Standing Spray: Tall and designed to stand on an easel, sprays are a dramatic and formal tribute often sent by family or close friends. They’re usually displayed at the service near the casket.
Wreath: Circular to symbolize eternal life and remembrance, wreaths are versatile. They may be displayed on easels or set by the casket, and are appropriate from both family and acquaintances.
Casket Cover (Casket Spray): This is the primary floral tribute placed directly on the casket. Full casket covers are typically chosen by immediate family for closed-casket services, while half-covers are used for open-casket viewings.
If you’re unsure which to choose, consider your relationship to the deceased and whether you’re sending flowers to the service, the family home, or a cemetery.
